Major League

Eligible ages 11 & 12

Rye Little League structures the Major Little League Division to include players who are 11 and 12 years old. The Braves, Dodgers and Pirates make up the major league teams.

Little League majors is a competitive division designed to create a more instructional environment for the players demonstrating the highest level of skill and understanding of the game. There is a more aggressive schedule at this level, typically four events (games/practices) per week. Major league play requires a serious time commitment to baseball. Players "fine tune" throwing, pitching, fielding, hitting, and base running skills. They also develop teamwork and sportsmanship skills required to win games in a competitive play environment.

The playing rules will be in accordance with the Little League International official regulations and playing rules handbook.  The baseball field is a 60-foot diamond, and the pitching distance is 46 feet. Rye Little League holds evaluations and a draft each year for all major league players.

Rye Little League has an option to choose a Tournament Team ("All Stars") of 10-11-12-year-olds and/or an 8-9-10 year-old team from within this division. At times we may look to our AAA level if needed.
