Hello Coaches!

Welcome to the Rye Little League season!

DOUBLE GOAL COACHING Course.

Rye Little League is a partner with Positive Coaching Alliance, an international organization that helps train coaches and reinforce positive coaching strategies to keep youth sports both positive and constructive even as it embraces competition.

As a partner, Rye Little League requires that EVERY manager, coach, and assistant coach take an on-line course to earn a Double-Goal Coaching certificate. The course takes about an hour and can be taken at your convenience from home.

If you are a coach in AAA, AAA, or Major league, you are required to take COURSE #1.  This course teaches some of the essential elements of Positive Coaching (E.L.M., R.O.O.T.S., dealing with mistakes, setting proper goals, etc.). If you’ve taken the course before, this will be a quick refresher.

If you have coached in the Major Leagues for more than one year, you should take COURSE #2. This course builds on the elements of Course 1 but offers strategies for building a team culture and creating team unity. It will involve some review, but will provide a good deal of new ideas, too.

To access the DGC on-line courses, log on to the RLL Website. Go to Online Registration > register here >  Coaching registration.  If you are listed as “ineligible” simply click the icon and be sure your birthdate is entered correctly.  The Rye Little League confirmation email will have the link and voucher code to the DGC courses.  When you successfully complete the course, be sure to make a copy of your certificate and email  to the Director of Coaching Todd Cronin

BIG AL’s Baseball Clinic.

In addition to the Double Goal Coaching Course all coaches and managers are requested to attend the Big Al’s Coaching clinic. The clinic date time and location varies from year to year. RLL will notify all coaches of the location once it is known to us.  This clinic is really terrific and is helpful for even a seasoned coach.
